Joan Marrugat holds a Degree in Market Research and a Technical Engineering degree in Telecommunications. He has more than 25 years of experience in industrial automation, digitalization, and control systems, having built his career with international companies including Rockwell Automation, Endress+Hauser, Schneider Electric (Eurotherm), and currently with Watlow.

Throughout his career, he has contributed to digital transformation projects across the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, chemical, and heat treatment industries, supporting the implementation of monitoring, data acquisition and management, and system integration solutions. In his current role, he collaborates with manufacturers in regulated industries to adopt Smart Manufacturing technologies that improve operational efficiency, strengthen data integrity, and support compliance with regulatory requirements such as FDA 21 CFR Part 11 and EU GMP Annex 11, bridging the gap between technological innovation and the practical needs of modern manufacturing.

Joan Marrugat es Licenciado en ITM e Ingeniero Técnico de Telecomunicaciones, con más de 25 años de experiencia en automatización industrial, digitalización y sistemas de control. Ha desarrollado su trayectoria en compañías internacionales como Rockwell Automation, Endress+Hauser, Schneider Electric (Eurotherm) y, actualmente, Watlow. Ha participado en proyectos de transformación digital para sectores como el farmacéutico, biotecnológico, químico y de tratamiento térmico, apoyando la implantación de soluciones de monitorización, adquisición y gestión de datos e integración de sistemas.

En su actividad actual colabora con fabricantes de industrias reguladas en la adopción de tecnologías de Smart Manufacturing que contribuyen a mejorar la eficiencia operativa, la integridad de los datos y el cumplimiento de requisitos como FDA 21 CFR Part 11 y EU GMP Anexo 11, acercando la innovación tecnológica a las necesidades reales de la industria.
