Synopsis

Traditional cold chain logistics treats temperature compliance as a rigid, binary constraint, resulting in multi-million dollar product write-offs and over-engineered, carbon-heavy packaging. This paper challenges the status quo by integrating molecular kinetic data directly into supply chain operations.

By operationalizing Thermal Stability Curves (TSCs) through Arrhenius-based modelling, we demonstrate how pharmaceutical companies can transition from reactive quarantine protocols to automated, real-time product disposition. Furthermore, we present a framework for "dynamic packaging design," proving that allowing calculated, short-term thermal excursions enables a shift from costly Vacuum Insulation Panels (VIPs) to sustainable, low-weight materials.

The result is a dual-benefit strategy: a 70% reduction in deviation investigation times and up to a 35% reduction in total cost of ownership (TCO) for thermal packaging.
